AMRBC Missions Opportunities 2008-2009

Local

-Your Sunday School Class: each Sunday School class is following up with its own missionary from the Global Missions Conference and planning at least annual missions opportunities. Contact your own Sunday School teacher (or any other if your class event doesn’t fit your schedule).

-Miracle Hill: serving breakfast for the homeless one Saturday every 8 weeks on rotating teams. Contact: Terry & Tony Jolly; phone 472-3039.

-Helploss Ministries: outreach to people suffering from pregnancy and neonatal loss of a child. As needed/special event assistance. Contact: Karen Bishop, Karen@helploss.com. Website www.helploss.com.

-Pregnancy Centers: many levels of involvement, from office work/special events to becoming a volunteer counselor to women experiencing unplanned pregnancy. Locations in Spartanburg, Gaffney, Greer. Contact: Kameron Klosterman; phone 599-1620; email klosterman@integrity.com.

  • September 13 - Prayer Walk for Hunger/Homeless in Spartanburg
  • October 25 - Christmas in Action- helping refurbish several homes in the Converse area in Spartanburg

National

-Construction Ministries: weekend or week long construction projects for church ministries available year-round. Families encouraged. Trip planned for June for Montana. Contact: Scott Payne; phone 585-4453; email scottpayne@bellsouth.net.

-Prison Ministries: provide food, clothing, school, and medical supplies to The Haven of Rest Family Ministries, a halfway house for families visiting prisoners in Kentucky. Contact: Johnnie Livingston, phone 585-1931 or 909-3553; email livingstones5994@aol.com.

-Operation Christmas Child trip: travel to during the Thanksgiving season to pack and ship boxes of gifts around the world. Contact: Amy Gans saawgans@hotmail.com


International


-Time for Christ: Medical mission to Mexico twice yearly in June and December for 2 weeks. Medical and non-medical support staff needed. Contact: Sally Crain, shcrain@charter.net

-TREC Internationall: Missions of all kinds to India/Nepal. Trip designed to fit teammembers, led by Jeff McFarland. Upcoming trip planned for March 2009. Contact: Scott Klosterman, klosterman@integrity.com, www.trecinternational.org.
