WANTED: Special Buddies for Special Children

AMRBC needs your help staffing our Special Buddies Ministry..

What is a Special Buddy? Buddies are a one on one special care for children with special needs. A special buddy is paired with a child to show love and to ensure that the child feels safe and secure. This is done by accommodating a child’s need for supervised alone time or just moving around with them.

By serving as a Buddy you can help families who wouldn’t normally be able to participate in church. Parents are allowed to attend worship, knowing that their child is being cared for and loved.

What is required? You need only a desire to help show love and to ensure that a child feels safe and secure. You don’t have to teach. There is no experience necessary, just a heart to love a child. So if you are wondering "what exactly am I supposed to do?", the child’s parents will help train you and we will offer additional training as we continue to grow this ministry.

How much time is required? One hour a month. You will serve as a buddy during Sunday School or during the 11:00 a.m. Worship.

Who can serve? You!

How do I sign up to be a Special Buddy? It’s easy; all you have to do is contact Ada Welch at 486-8190.
