Recommended Reading

We have taken great care in gathering this list of selected reading materials. We only recommend books we have personally reviewed.

If you would like to recommend a book be reviewed for placement on this list, please e-mail us at support@helploss.com.

"Empty Arms: Emotional Support for Those Who Have Suffered Miscarriage or Stillbirth" by Pam Vredevelt- This is the book we distribute in our ministry. After reviewing dozens of books on the subject of pregnancy and neonatal loss, we chose this book because of its completeness, its compassion, and its powerful message. We truly cannot recommend this book enough.

"Empty Arms: Coping After Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death" by Sherokee Ilse- Not to be confused with the Pam Vredevelt book above, this is the book we received in the hospital upon the loss of our son. It is good reading for the time immediately after loss, and its shorter length makes it easy to read in one sitting.

"Free to Grieve" by Maureen Rank- Excellent resource for anyone going through the pain of miscarriage or stillbirth.

"Morning Will Come" by Sandy Day- We have had the pleasure of meeting the author of this book, and she has an extremely powerful testimony. This book is a collection of writings by those who have experienced pregnancy and neonatal loss, and it is emotional and impactful reading.

For many other books on the subject, try an Amazon.com search.
